Red Flash Caladium

(12-24 tall x 24 wide), Red Flash Fancy Leaf Caladium is sure to please. Each heart-shaped, olive green leaf is painted with a burst of red veining and a splattering of pink frecklesresponding with vigor as summers heat and humidity get under way. Plant tubers of Red Flash caladium in the late spring when evening temperatures are steadily above 65F. Choose a rich, moisture-retentive soil in a shady to partly-shady location.Feed Red Flash Caladiums regularly with a balanced fertilizer for vigorous growth. Gardeners can treat Red Flash like an annual in the fall, or can choose to dig the tubers before a hard freeze and store in a dark location between 55-60F in vermiculite or sawdust. Once potted back up in the spring, bottom heat will encourage the tubers to re-sprout and get a jump on their summer growth.
